Happier Green Spaces

A two year programme exploring the green spaces of the East End of Plymouth examining with our community the benefits of learning about and interacting with them. This programme is delivered in partnership with Age UK, Plymouth Scrapstore, The Social Isolation Forum and ODILS with thanks to funding from The Rank Foundation.

Happier Green Spaces is a programme of art reflections and explorations, on and in local green spaces in the East End of Plymouth including Tothill Park, Teats Hill Park, Mount Wise and Devonport Park.

The programme, funded by the Rank Foundation, is taking place over two years and engages local groups in art activities following the theme of green spaces in sessions across two years.

Opportunities to get involved include:

Monthly art activities to to Age UK in Mount Gould

Bio diversity explorations of local spaces

Planting and labelling in local spaces

Foraging walks

Opportunities to reminisce about green spaces with local artists in Plymouth and to share

Opportunities to work with The Barbican Theatre and other partners on city wide initiatives, engaging city dwellers with the idea that nature should have rights.

Opportunities to learn skills in producing inks from your own habitat for watercolours.
